Cookies and storage

iLIVV uses only the cookies and browser storage it needs to work. We do not use advertising cookies or track you across other websites. If that ever changes, we will ask you first.

Cookies

  • next-auth.session-token (or __Secure-next-auth.session-token)

    Keeps you signed in. Essential.

    Lasts: Up to 60 days, renewed when you use iLIVV; removed when you sign out

  • next-auth.csrf-token, next-auth.callback-url

    Protect sign-in from forged requests and remember where to send you after sign-in. Essential.

    Lasts: This visit

  • ilivv_next

    Remembers the page you were heading to while you register, verify your email and sign in. Essential.

    Lasts: 15 minutes

  • ilivv_signup_guard, ilivv_signup_verification

    Protect account creation from automated sign-ups and tie your identity check to your registration. Essential. Not readable by scripts on the page.

    Lasts: Up to 2 hours

  • ilivv_src

    Remembers which link first brought you to iLIVV (for example a campaign or a social app), so we can tell what is working. Holds only the channel and campaign name, never your details. Read once when you sign up, then removed.

    Lasts: 30 days, or until you sign up

  • ilivv_visitor_id

    A random number that lets iLIVV count each person once when they view a listing or profile, so view counts are not inflated. It is not linked to advertising and is not shared. Set only when you view a listing or profile. Not strictly required for the site to work, so it is under legal review.

    Lasts: 2 years

Browser storage

  • ilivv-mobile-theme: Your light or dark choice.
  • ilivv.session.v1: Whether you are signed in, so a dropped connection does not look like a sign-out. Contains your name and account type, never your password or tokens. Cleared when you sign out.
  • ilivv-cookie-notice: That you have seen this notice.
  • ilivv-saved-insights: Insights you saved on this device.
  • nextauth.message: Lets your open iLIVV tabs notice together when you sign in or out. Contains no personal details.

Cache

Your browser keeps copies of images, fonts and scripts so iLIVV loads faster. Pages that show your account are marked private and are not stored for others to reuse. Clearing your browser's cache never signs you out; clearing cookies does.

Other services

Some features load from other companies, which then see your IP address and device details: map tiles from OpenStreetMap, payment pages from Paystack, identity checks from Dojah and NINAuth, and error reports to Sentry (which does not receive personal details from us). Each has its own privacy policy.
